Finally finish VIVA

Finishing my Final Year Project, last paper laft. During VIVA i wan shoot by Prof MJ because of i forgot to change a value in my methodology part. This cause me have to show the calculation on the whiteboard. Really scared me to death. Anyway its is my mistake and i will not make the same mistake again. Thanks Prof MJ!!!

Another news that cheered me up yesterday is i finally get a response from the job i applied by using jobstreet. They told me that the boss might interview me through phone and i am damn excited. Hope this may go smooth.

I have been using my parent's money for more than 20 years already. Its time for me to pay them back. Hope i can get a job as fast as possible.

I had read some post from my friend about the religious issue so i also wanted to post an interesting conversation about reliogion. This conversation really inspired me.

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the problem Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his new Christian students to stand and...

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, you believe in GOD?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD good?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent)

Professor : You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella.

Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from?
Student : From...GOD...
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And GOD did make everything.
Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil?

(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness?
All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who created them?

(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe
the World around you. Tell me, son...have you ever feen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your
GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol,
Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't...

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat,
Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat.
But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero
which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat.
We cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy.
Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

(There was pin-drop dilence in the Lecture Theatre)

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as
Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of
Something.
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light...
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its
called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is,
you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
Professor : So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student : Sir, my point is, your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue
there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are
viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and
Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.
To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that
Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing.
Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it
Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from
a Monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process,
yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument was going)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at
work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor,
Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir?
Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in uproar)

Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the
Professor's brain?

(The Class broke out into laughter)

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's
brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?...
No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable
Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect,
sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The Room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face
unfathomable)

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir...Exactly!
The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

That student was ALBERT EINSTEIN.

阿桑 I will always be your fans.May you rest in peace

Yesterday when my friends told me that 阿桑 had passed away because of breast cancer, i thought it was a joke. When i found out that the news is real i am totally down immediately. Her songs can symbolizes my high school life. 叶子 and 一直很安靜 are my favourite songs. I still search for her new songs recently because it has been so long since her last album. Even artists from taiwan discussed about where had she been.

On 6th of April 2009, she passed away because of breast cancer. 張智成 cried all the way at her funeral. Many were shocked with this news because she was just 34. I am sure many of her fans cried a bucket too.

阿桑 is a special artist that no other artist can replace her. The combination of her voice and the lyrics of her songs has the ability to heal those who have problems with their relationship.

I missed her voice, i missed her songs. May she rest in peace in heaven........阿桑

A week full of pressure and tension

Its been about a week since mylast post. I have a bored week. My whole week is about doing my thesis and assignments. Thesis is a tough part. Chapter 4 results and discussion really squeezed by brain. With the results i had from my labwork, i need to explain why the results appear in this shape.

Thinking back what i gained from my final year project, i found out that i really learned a lot of new things. I will have to thank my supervisor and all the master student in my lab for guiding me all the way. From knowing nothing last year to now, i am able to use FAAS, ICP-OES, GCMS, doing microbal test and know abit about HPLC. These knowledge are precious to gain entrance ticket to the industries.

Oh yes, on last friday i went for The Fast and Furious 4. The movie of course entertains me well as i am hardcore fans of The Fast and Furious series. However, there is one thing that unsatisfied me. Do you guys figured out that Vin Diesel's every action movie is all about busting the villains all the way to the end and he always win at last? The plot is too predictable. The action is great of course. With high budget, its all about car crashing, gun fight, new car models, hot babes and name it all you can. My hero for this movie is Bryan the undercover. His performance in 2 fast 2 furious had been outstanding and in this movie he did well too. He has that professional racer look that makes him attractive. Ok, i am not going to talk anything about the plot so that u guys can enjoy the movie yourself. To end my post i present you all this Fast and Furious 4 wallpaper. Have a nice day!!!

Clash of the Titans

Yesterday was the final between SST and SPE for men's basketball. I heard the sciencetech of my school had printed some posters of transformers to symbolize the clash of this two teams. This match is fair with our team without Ah Ken and their team without Ah Bi. SST had provided us a box of 100 plus. This boosted our team's spirit. Thanks SST!!! This is the picture of our team taken after the match with UMS coach.

Back to the match, the match starts at around 4pm although it was written 3 in the schedule. The weather was burning hot. All of us were equipped with sunblock. The game started normally with my team having a 4 points lead. Nothing special in the 1st quarter. Just halfway into the second quarter, Johnathan form SPE punched my teammate Wei Guan(no.10) in the stomach. Coach saw it and he was disqualified. Until now i still don't understand the real motive of his action. Wei guan just did nothing.

After this incident, SPE starts to play aggresive. I get an elbow from Jack straight into my waiste, scratched at the back and got hit in knee when i layup. That caused my whole body in pain today.

With those injuries, i couldn't perform well. I just grab some rebounds and give some blocks. Scoring jobs were done ny Ah Quan, Pun Chong and Wan. At last we won at 10 points margin.

I had to admit this game was tough without Ah ken.

Fortunately we won. This is the 1st gold medal for full court basketball competition. This maybe will be the last competition for me before graduate. I am pleased with my team's performance and i think SST can be champion again next semester.

I had taken this picture with Wan after we received the medal and trophiy. On my way back home the question comes to me again: "Is the end of University life = End of basketball life?"..............

MASUM team and stories behind it........

Representing UMS is my goal when i enter UMS. With hard work from training everyday-continuous baseline shooting, 4,3,2 pass layup, half court press, I am selected for MASUM(inter university games) basketball team. Our team had started training for the whole semester but from early stages that has i think 30 something people, we left the best 12. The training is really tough, after physical and stamina training, we are needed to perform half court press. I got once training until my vision is blurred because of lacking stamina.

No.14 is Mahathir always my best teammate. He is also my teammates in intercollege competitions. He always know where i am going and what i want to do on court. No.12 Ah siong is our ace player. He used to represent SUKMA for Perak and he is the captain of our team. No.11 Ah Zing is Sabah state player. He is also known as jumpman because of his ability to dunk. No.7 and No.15 Sani and Ah Quan are our centers. Sani is also my teammates in intercollege competitions. Ah Quan is the freshman with great physical strength. No.13,No.10 and No.5 Ah Ming, Boon Chong and Jing Yi are our forwards. Ah ming is a good passer, Boon Chong unlickily injured his leg just before the tournament so he didnt play a lot, Jing Yi has great stamina as he is one of the PALAPES. No.4, No.9 and No.6 Jonathan, Vui Kien and Ah seng are our guards. Jonathan used to play for asia city team and he is a consistent shooter. Vui kien used to played for Darrulsalam and is a good dribbler. Ah seng has his special moves made him unguardable. Lastly me No.8 obviously lacking tough body played forward for the team.

This photo was taken before our game with petronas staff at DBKK. We snatched a 30 points win in this game.

During MASUM 1st game we were up aginst UIAM. The whole UIAM team were foreign students. Their forwards and center are at average 6 feet high. We manage to keep the score shoulder to shoulder until fourth quarter they just got some luck, scored a couple of 3s causing us to lose. I didnt managed to score in this game.

2nd game we were up against UM. They were defending champion so we don't expect a lot for this game. We just played our best. The result of course is we losed but i think our team played better for this game. We didnt do many mistakes. We losed just because they are experienced and their physical strength are better. I manages to score 9 points all from 3 points area.

This year MASUM will be held at Terengganu if i am not mistaken. UMS had declared not to send basketball team just because we didnt won last year. This reason really sucks. We trained hard, prepared well. We losed just because we lacked experiences. If UMS stopped sending us to MASUM, this mean we will not gaining any experience so how are we going to improved??? This is sad really sad not fair for all the basketballer in UMS. Football also didnt won last year but why they are given priority??? UMS has 3 football fields. 1 of them is fully equiped with 4 big spotlights tower. What do basketball court has??? with only 1 basketball court, its fine. The court has no spotlights, it s also fine. The worse is even after raining, the court just flooded. Sad.....really sad.

We make it to the final!!!

Today is the semifinal match of interschool basketball competition between my school(science and technology school) and SKTM(engineering school). I went to this match with mixed feelings because half the team of SKTM are my UMS teammate and also my best friends. Actually i am expecting SPE(business school) in semifinal, but SKTM accidentally losed to SPE causing we had to meet in semifinal. The game starts well for my team as our guards are super fast having a few fastbreak and we had around 10 points lead at the end of 1st quarter. I had 2 early fouls causing me had to cool myself down at the bench. SKTM managed to maintain the gap with us until they substituted their bench players(mainly junior). Their bench players make silly mistakes causing the gap become larger. At last we managed to win with the gap of 22 points. I managed to get 4 points and had a few good assists. For overall, my team played well and had only a few mistakes.
The another semifinal game was held just after our match ended. It is between ssmp(school of food) and SPE(business school). This match is more exited because both team managed to maintain the gap below 4 points until the end of 4th quarter. Although there were massive fans crowd to support SSMP, their key player's stamina are limited and their bench players cannot catch up the tempo of the game. SPE managed to win at around 10 points gap.
So, this saturday will be improtant for us to fight for gold. The match between SST and SPE will start at 3pm. We need supporter so please come. We will be missing ah ken. He is going back to Sandakan this saturday so i am expecting a tough match. Hope my team can play like the form today. I want another gold medal before i graduate!!!!!

UMS just don't get it

I think those of you from UMS must have heard that one student had involved in an accident last few week before. The student name i am not going to mention here had fall into the drain near the main gate causing severe damage at liver part. He passed away the next day. You are not going to find this news in the papers as it is kept closed by UMS. Ok, thats fine. Then after that incident, UMS kept the road lights and all the ligths at SKTM on. Last night, my friend had told me that lights behind the library(the only entrance to Megalab) is kept off at night. UMS just don't get it. There are lot s of students using the Megalab. How if the darkness causes accident again? Is it accident occurs only at SKTM? I had stayed back at lab at SST for a few nights. The condition there is the same. They turn off all the lights causing me had to use flashlight from my handphone just to get to my bike. What is going on with UMS? They can spend a lot for dinners and functions. Why not use more to secure students' safety?
